Bridal Reception Dresses
Of all the wedding outfits, the reception one is often the most relaxed. The ceremonies are done, the evening is for celebrating, and brides tend to choose something lighter, more modern or simply different from what they wore for the Baraat. This collection is for that evening, and it’s organised around three silhouettes, each with its own page: reception gowns for one flowing line, reception lehengas for a skirt with real movement, and reception sarees for a draped look. Colours usually move away from bridal red towards champagne, silver, blush, ice blue, emerald or deep wine. Pick the silhouette first, then open its collection.

Reception or Walima: what’s the difference?
In a traditional Pakistani wedding, the Walima is the reception: the feast the groom’s family hosts after the Nikkah and the Rukhsati. Our Walima dresses follow that tradition. Many couples in Europe also hold a reception in the broader sense, an evening party that may replace the Walima, follow a civil ceremony or bring two families and cultures together. This collection is for that kind of evening, which is why it includes gowns and sarees alongside lehengas and leans more contemporary.
Choosing a reception silhouette
A gown with a modest trail is usually the easiest of the three to move and dance in, and it suits brides who want a cleaner, more modern look after a heavily traditional Baraat. A lehenga keeps the South Asian silhouette, usually in a lighter weight and a fresher colour than the wedding-day one. A saree is the most graceful of the three and the one that changes your look most from the previous days, though it takes practice, or a helper, to drape. If you’re torn, think about the evening itself: a first dance and a long night on your feet favour a gown or a light lehenga.
Colours for the evening
Reception colours are freer than those of the main ceremonies. Metallics such as champagne, gold and silver photograph well under evening lighting and suit a hotel ballroom or banqueting hall. Pastels like blush, lilac and ice blue feel fresh, especially at a spring or summer reception. Deep jewel tones (emerald, sapphire, wine) are the choice for a winter evening. If your groom is wearing a sherwani for the reception, look at the two outfits side by side before you order either; a black sherwani is a popular evening choice and sits well beside metallics and jewel tones.
Timing your order
Like every bridal piece, a reception outfit is made to order, and free delivery can take up to three months. For a sooner date, Rush (€59) shortens that to 30 days and Super Rush (€199) to 14. For the full sequence of wedding outfits, beginning with the Mehndi, see our Pakistani bridal dresses.
