If you fall between sizes or outside standard sizing, the customised route is the safer one on a garment this long — the shoulder line is the single point that cannot be corrected afterwards. Colour changes and selected adjustments to the embroidery or design can also be requested, subject to feasibility, and should be raised before the order is placed. Because each piece is produced to order, count the production time back from the wedding date before you decide.

This listing is for the sherwani itself. A kurta pyjama, khussa, the red shawl and an ivory and gold turban can be added above before you order. The red detailing on the garment is included as standard — that is stitched into the sherwani and is not one of the optional pieces. Styling an ivory sherwani

Ivory carries well across the whole of a wedding day. In daylight — a nikkah, a daytime baraat — the warm base keeps it from reading as stark, and the gold work stays visible without needing artificial light to lift it. At a walima or an evening reception the gold intensifies and the red holds the outline.

Do not iron directly over the embroidery or the zari collar — press from the reverse at a low heat, or steam gently, keeping heat away from the metallic work. Apply perfume to the skin rather than over the embroidered areas. Store the sherwani hanging in a dry place, in a breathable garment bag rather than plastic, and avoid prolonged damp. A pale ground marks more readily than a dark one, so storage matters.
